Attach Receipts to your Expenses from your Android 3 Device (by taking a picture)

Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011

Great new feature in Torch Project Management's Offline Mobile Access: When you are out at a store and you buy that item you want to expense; take a picture of the receipt!

When you are adding an expense in the offline app, a new button will appear at the bottom:

Clicking the "Add Receipt..." button will pop up this dialog (on Android 3.0 and higher):

You can then take a picture of the receipt and save the expenses. If you are offline, the app will sync with Torch once you are back online.

This is implemented with the new media capture api, which is a w3 standard. So, at the moment it only works with Android, but it should be coming to other platforms as well.

Sunday, November 15th, 2009

The interface of Torch Project Management's Offline Mobile Access has been improved to better blend with the iPhone and Android 2.0 interface. Additionally, the filter speed has been dramatically improved. This means you can search any list of items in the application extremely quickly.

Torch's HTML5 Offline Mobile Interface for iPhone, iPod Touch and Android

If you haven't tried out the offline mobile interface your really missing out. You can work entirely offline and have your changes automatically sync back to the Torch service once you get an Internet connection.

Offline Mobile features include:

  • Time
  • Expenses
  • Budgets
  • Upcoming events and tasks
  • Recent messages and comments
  • Adding messages, events, time and expenses

Additionally, due the way HTML5 applications work, any update is automatically installed. No more need to download updates manually. For install instructions, look under your help section and select "Mobile."
